Black History Month 2024

From February 1st until March 1st, we celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of Black Americans in the United States. Negro History Week, initiated by Carter G. Woodson, was observed for the first time on February 7, 1926. President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976, calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history (https://www.history.com/topics/black-history/black-history-month).

Be curious. Be inquisitive. Open your mind to learning about different cultures and perspectives, and specifically about Black history.
